Frequently Asked Questions
We know reaching out can feel like a big step. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often to help you feel more prepared and at ease.
Getting Started
You can schedule an appointment by calling or texting us at 307-797-2398, or by filling out the contact form on our website. We typically respond within 24-48 hours to get you scheduled for your first session.
Your first session is all about getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask about what brought you to counseling, your background, and your goals for therapy. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. Think of it as a conversation to see if we're a good fit for working together.
Standard therapy sessions are 50-60 minutes. EMDR and Brainspotting sessions may run longer depending on the work being done. Your therapist will discuss session length with you based on your treatment plan.
Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship. As you progress toward your goals, sessions may taper to biweekly or monthly. Your therapist will work with you to find the frequency that best supports your healing.
Insurance & Payment
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Medicare. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify your mental health benefits and coverage details before your first appointment. We're happy to help you navigate this process.
We offer self-pay options and a sliding scale fee structure for those without insurance or who prefer not to use their insurance benefits. We believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care, and we'll work with you to find a payment arrangement that fits your situation.
Yes, we offer HIPAA-compliant video telehealth sessions for clients throughout Wyoming. Telehealth provides the same quality of care as in-person sessions with the added convenience of meeting from your home or office. Many insurance plans cover telehealth at the same rate as in-person visits.
Services & Treatment
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help your brain process traumatic memories. Research shows it's highly effective for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related conditions. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn't require you to discuss traumatic events in detail or complete homework between sessions.
Absolutely. Many of our clients come in with overlapping concerns, such as anxiety alongside grief, or trauma with depression. Our therapists are trained in multiple areas and can address several issues within your treatment plan. We'll work with you to prioritize what feels most urgent while building skills that benefit all areas of your mental health.
Our primary focus is individual therapy. However, we can address relationship dynamics and family issues within individual sessions. If you're specifically seeking couples or family therapy, we're happy to provide referrals to trusted colleagues who specialize in those areas.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Yes, everything discussed in therapy is confidential. Your therapist will not share information about your sessions without your written consent. There are a few legal exceptions to confidentiality, which include imminent danger to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, and court orders. Your therapist will explain these limits in detail during your first session.
